Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is a therapeutic massage technique that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissues within the body. It is designed to target specific areas of tension, chronic pain, and muscle stiffness.
During a deep tissue massage, a trained therapist applies firm pressure and slow, deliberate strokes to reach the underlying layers of muscles and fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles). The therapist may use their fingers, knuckles, elbows, or forearms to apply the pressure, depending on the area being treated and the level of intensity required.
Deep tissue massage doesn’t need to painful to be effective. Our therapists use their knowledge and understanding of how muscles and tendons work to target the right areas deeply – without causing pain.
Deep tissue massage offers both physical and psychological benefits. This type of massage will work out the knots from stress, over worked muscles and connective tissue to alleviate immediate pain as well as chronic joint and muscle pain. It also can help to unwind mentally too.
